UCP3 Gene Test Service
InquiryOverview of Uncoupling Protein (UCP) 3
On the road to exploring the complex causes of obesity, Protheragen provides comprehensive Obesity Causality Analysis Services. From in-depth analysis of Genetically Induced Obesity to precise identification of the Monogenic Obesity Gene, every step of the way is aimed at unraveling the secrets of obesity for our clients.
In rodents and humans, the UCP3 gene is expressed in skeletal muscle, white adipose tissue, brown adipose tissue, and cardiac muscle. It is involved in regulating lipid metabolism, is an important target protein substance for energy metabolism in skeletal muscle, and significantly affects body mass, resting metabolic rate, and body fat metabolism, which are involved in energy homeostasis in the body. Based on this, our company provides accurate UCP3 gene testing services to help clients scientifically explore the relationship between the UCP3 gene and obesity.
Exploring the Association Between UCP3 Gene Expression and Obesity
Our company provides one-stop UCP3 gene test services, including but not limited to cell and animal model construction, primer synthesis, UCP3 gene tissue expression analysis, the effect of different factors on UCP3 gene expression, and data statistical analysis.
UCP3 Gene Tissue Expression Analysis
- Our researchers provide the distribution of UCP3 gene expression in tissues and the level of expression at different stages of lipid-induced differentiation by real-time quantitative PCR (qPCR). Common tissues such as the heart, liver, spleen, etc.
- We provide UCP3 mRNA amount determination service in skeletal muscle by Northern blot.
- For the over-expressed UCP3 gene, we provide a high-efficiency over-expression analysis service.
- Relying on lipid extraction analysis and the detection of adipocyte differentiation marker genes, our talented team helps clients analyze the effect of UCP3 gene overexpression on lipids from cell morphology and biology.
Effects of Different Factors on UCP3 Gene Expression
- Our company provides screening and assay services for factors affecting UCP3 gene expression. If a client wants to measure the effect of a certain factor on UCP3 gene expression, we provide efficient assay services.
- Fe affects the body's thermogenesis, and the body's iron status influences blood levels of thyroid hormones. Our staff is further investigating the relationship between iron and UCPs to find dietary factors that stimulate UCP3 gene expression, promote thermogenesis, and increase energy expenditure.
Sequencing
- We identify UCP3 gene variants by whole-exon sequencing (WES) and bioinformatically analyze the pathogenicity of the gene variants.
Workflow
Applications
- The UCP3 gene test can be used for genetic risk assessment. In particular, it is important to analyze the extent to which UCP3 gene variants affect obesity risk.
- The UCP3 gene test plays important roles in energy metabolism, fat oxidation, and body weight regulation.
- The UCP3 gene test can be used to study the function and regulatory mechanism of fat deposition in animal models.
Advantages of Us
- Our company has experts in many fields, such as genetics and nutrition, to help clients analyze the regulatory mechanism of the UCP3 gene in obesity and provide clients with scientific interpretation reports.

Results: This article focuses on the identification of a novel enhancer in the intron of the UCP3 gene and its regulatory mechanism. It is found that this intronic enhancer region has a key role in the transcriptional regulation of the UCP3 gene. This enhancer region contains multiple transcription factor binding sites, such as specificity protein 1/3 (SP1/3), peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPAR), etc., which together constitute its core components. The specific enhancement of UCP3 gene expression by this enhancer region was verified by different deletion constructs and agonist treatments.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
What are UCPs?
UCP belongs to the mitochondrial anion carrier protein (MACP) family. Our company provides not only the UCP3 gene test but also the UCP1 and UCP2 gene test services. UCP1 is the only uncoupling protein expressed in brown adipose tissue (BAT). The UCP2 gene plays an important role in regulating body weight and maintaining energy metabolic homeostasis.

What are the diseases associated with the UCP3 genes?
UCP3 gene-related diseases include, but are not limited to, obesity, leptin deficiency or dysfunction, morbid obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus, prediabetes syndrome, hyperinsulinism, diabetes mellitus, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis 1.
Through the UCP3 gene test service, Protheragen not only reveals the genetic secrets behind obesity for you but also further understands the development mechanism of obesity. Feel free to contact us for a satisfactory genetic test!
