Effect Analysis of Dietary Components on the Gut Microbiota

Inquiry

Overview

Dietary components have a profound effect on the gut microbiota, and their interaction is one of the key factors in maintaining gut health. Dietary fiber not only directly affects the composition of the gut flora in the host, but also indirectly shapes the gut flora by influencing the host's metabolism and immune system, altering the diversity of the gut flora. Our specialized gut microbiota impact analysis provides clients with a comprehensive view of how dietary habits shape the gut microbiota. Protheragen provides many types of diets on gut microbes, including, but not limited to, high-fat, high-carb, high-protein, high-fiber, calorie-restricted, ketogenic, and Mediterranean-type diets. Our goal is to help you better understand the complex relationship between gut microbes and obesity and provide customized solutions.

Precision Intervention with Gut Microbiota Using Dietary Components Effect Analysis

Our company has many years of operational experience in the study of obesity-associated gut microbiota. We quickly and accurately help our clients analyze the effects of different factors on the composition of microorganisms and their metabolite abundance, as well as how these changes affect obesity and metabolic disorders. Our company focuses on studying the association between obesity and gut microbiota, and provides the following analytical services:

High-fat Diet

High-carbohydrate Diet

High-protein Diet

High-fibre Diet

Calorie-restricted Diet

Ketogenic Diet

Mediterranean Diet

Experimental Modeling

Our company has abundant animal resources and a variety of molding methods to meet the different needs of clients. For example, we offer the dog obesity model, pig obesity model, mouse obesity model, rat obesity model, monkey obesity model, guinea pig obesity model, rabbit obesity model, and zebrafish obesity model. Under suitable conditions, we use different foods to feed animals to explore the effects of dietary composition on animals.

Effects on the Intestinal Barrier of Animals

For the impact of the intestinal barrier in animals, we mainly provide intestinal tissue morphology and staining, endotoxin measurement, serum inflammatory cytokine measurement, tissue RNA extraction, and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) assay for the expression of intestinal-related genes, and the expression of intestinal tight junction proteins.

Effects on the Intestinal Flora of Animals

We offer gut microbial DNA sequencing, 16S rRNA sequencing, and short-chain fatty acid assays. Moreover, our researchers analyze the effects of dietary components on the species richness, diversity, and structural composition of gut microorganisms at different taxonomic levels.

Protheragen is dedicated to discovering targets for anti-obesity therapies, using advanced genetic and molecular biology techniques to identify key molecules in the regulation of obesity. Based on these discoveries, we design and develop appropriate therapeutic strategies and evaluate their potential efficacy through in vitro experiments as well as precise animal models. We also conduct meticulous preclinical studies to comprehensively evaluate the safety and efficacy of these therapeutic approaches.

Results: In this study, researchers found that the capsaicin (CAP) diet increased levels of butyric acid-producing Ruminococcaceae and Lachnospiraceae while decreasing levels of lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-producing S24_7 family members. It was also found that CAP contributed to the prevention of high-fat diet (HFD)-induced intestinal barrier dysfunction by inhibiting cannabinoid receptor type 1 (CB1). Fecal microbiota transplantation experiments in germ-free mice demonstrated that CAP-induced protection against HFD-induced obesity was transferable. In addition, the depletion of the microbiota with an antibiotic mixture was sufficient to block the CAP-induced protective phenotype against obesity, further suggesting a role for the microbiota in this process.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What are the effects of gut microbiota analysis on health?

Studies have shown that alterations in the structure and function of the gut flora affect the host's energy metabolism, insulin sensitivity, and gut barrier function, among others. Gut microbiota has been linked to a variety of metabolic diseases, including obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. Analyzing gut microbiota helps to understand health risks and provide targeted health advice.

  2. Does Protheragen support customization if a client does not find a suitable diet induction model?

Sure. Whether you want to customize the dietary composition, the type of animal, the mode of feeding, or the subsequent route of analysis, our dedicated research team offers individual solutions.

Using effect analysis, Protheragen has thoroughly investigated the effects of different dietary habits, such as high-fat, high-carbohydrate, high-protein, and high-fiber diets, on gut microorganisms. Our service process is rigorous and scientific, combining state-of-the-art metagenomic sequencing technology and bioinformatics analysis to ensure that provide you with accurate and reliable data.
