Overview

Obesity stems from an imbalance in energy balance and is closely associated with the development of metabolic disorders such as insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes. Metabolic disorders are characterized by abnormalities in sugar-related molecular and Lipid Metabolism. In the field of obesity pathobiology research, Protheragen is dedicated to exploring in depth the complex relationship between obesity and sugar-related molecular metabolism. Our service mainly covers three key elements: glucose metabolism analysis, insulin molecular metabolism analysis, and glucagon metabolism analysis.

Precision Metabolic Profiling at Protheragen

The metabolism of carbohydrates in the body occurs mainly through anaerobic fermentation of glucose, aerobic oxidation, the pentose phosphate pathway, the glucuronic acid pathway, the polyol pathway, glycogen synthesis, catabolism, and gluconeogenesis, which work together to maintain the energy supply and the stability of blood glucose levels. We deeply analyze the test results with bioinformatics tools to identify key metabolic pathways and molecular changes in sugar-related molecular metabolism.

Our company obtains a comprehensive understanding of sugar-related molecular metabolism by efficiently isolating, detecting, and quantifying sugar molecules in cell or tissue samples.

  • Sample collection: We have a professional biological team to provide animal modeling and sample extraction services. Moreover, our company supports clients by providing samples for analysis.
  • Qualitative and quantitative analysis: Based on advanced bioanalytical techniques, we provide accurate qualitative and quantitative metabolite analysis services. Our commonly used analytical techniques include liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS), gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and microarray.

Applications

  • Sugar-related molecular metabolism analysis can be used to analyze insulin signaling pathways and the effects of insulin on glycogen synthesis, gluconeogenesis, and glucose uptake.
  • Sugar-related molecular metabolism analysis can be used for dynamic system modeling of glucagon and insulin interactions.
  • With an increased understanding of sugar-related molecular metabolites, more targeted therapies are possible. Sugar-related molecular metabolism analysis provides rigorous scientific data for the development of anti-obesity therapies.

Advantages of Us

  • Combining biochemical, molecular biology, and glyco-bioinformatics approaches, our company offers comprehensive metabolic profiling, including sample extraction, metabolite analysis, and detailed data report interpretation.
  • The metabolic analysis services provided by our company are characterized by high specificity, high sensitivity, and accurate quantification.
  • Not only do we combine with other experimental data to reveal the relevant molecular biology mechanism, but we also provide strong support for the subsequent in-depth research and development, and utilization of metabolic molecular markers.

Results: In this study, researchers analyzed the metabolism of glucocorticoids in obese individuals after weight loss. In obese individuals, glucocorticoid activity is elevated, which promotes fat accumulation, inhibits lipolysis, and decreases metabolic rate. Weight loss reduces glucocorticoid synthesis and activity, thereby improving metabolism.
