DNA Nutrigenetics Testing
InquiryOverview
Nutritional genetic variation refers to differences in individual responses to dietary components and nutritional requirements at the genetic level. These genetic differences may influence a person's capacity to absorb, process, and utilize certain nutrients in their diet, potentially influencing how obese individuals respond to dietary treatments. Based on the studies in the referenced information, there is a correlation between nutritional genetic variation and dietary/lifestyle interventions in obese populations. Receiving personalized nutritional intervention strategies based on an individual's genetic variation enhances the effectiveness of interventions for obese populations.
Unlock Your Unique Health Blueprint with DNA Nutrigenetics Testing
The DNA nutritional genetics test aims to create customized nutrition and health plans according to an individual's distinct genetic makeup. Through the examination of specific genetic indicators, the test offers an understanding of the impact of your genes on metabolism, nutrient absorption, and overall dietary requirements. Investigations in Protheragen encompass crucial areas such as Identifying Novel Targets for Anti-Obesity Treatments, including Hormones and Peptides, Receptors, Enzymes and Proteins, Metabolic Regulators, and Signaling Molecules. Moreover, we are concentrating on advancing the development of Anti-Obesity Therapies like small-molecule drugs, gene therapy, cell therapy, antibody therapy, tissue-engineering therapy, and nanotherapy.
We also conduct Preclinical Studies on anti-obesity therapeutics to verify their safety and efficacy. These studies are of great significance in the drug development process, as they enable us to assess the pharmacological characteristics of potential treatments before they are tested in human clinical trials.
Protheragen is committed to obesity research and offers a wide range of services to its clients, including but not limited to Obesity Causation Analysis Services, Diagnostic Tests, Obesity Prediction Services, Obesity Biomarker Identification and Analysis Services, and Targeted Editing for Obesity Genes. Among them, our diagnostic tests interpret your genes from different perspectives to help you manage your weight more scientifically. The details of our DNA nutrigenetics testing service are as follows.
Food Allergenicity Analysis
The effects of caffeine and alcohol on the body vary from person to person, and some people may be more susceptible to their effects than others. If you suspect you have an allergy or intolerance to gluten or lactose, our testing helps you determine if you need to limit foods or beverages containing these ingredients. With scientifically accurate test results, you can better understand your condition and make adjustments to improve your health.
Metabolic Factor Analysis
Based on your genes, it is possible to learn about your body's ability to metabolize fat and sugar. Certain genes may affect the absorption and utilization of fat and sugar from food, which may lead to high levels of bad cholesterol or blood sugar. We use the test results to advise you on how to structure your diet in your daily life, including controlling the intake of foods that are high in fat and sugar and increasing exercise to maintain a healthy metabolic level.
Vitamin Analysis
We analyze genetic variants associated with vitamin metabolism through DNA nutrigenetics testing to help identify genetic factors that may influence obesity risk. Vitamin D has an important effect on fat metabolism and insulin sensitivity. Studies have shown that vitamin D deficiency is associated with an increased risk of obesity and metabolic syndrome. Certain genetic variants (such as those associated with the vitamin D receptor) may affect your absorption and utilization of vitamin D, which in turn affects fat storage and metabolism. Vitamin B complex, especially vitamin B12, and folate are involved in energy metabolism and fat conversion. Their deficiency may lead to decreased metabolic rate and weight gain. Related genetic variants may affect the efficiency of vitamin B12 and folate metabolism, affecting energy levels and fat storage.

Results: This article focuses on how nutritional genetic variants affect the response to dietary/lifestyle interventions in obese individuals. An association was found between the rs9939609 variant in the FTO gene and weight loss and reduced BMI, with individuals carrying the A-risk allele experiencing less weight loss after dietary intervention. In addition, the rs16147 variant in the NPY gene was associated with changes in PREDIMED scores, suggesting that genetic variants may influence the response to dietary interventions. However, the findings were inconsistent for the rs326 in the LPL gene and the rs2943641 variant near the IRS-1 gene, and further studies are needed to determine their effects on metabolic response and weight change. Overall, this study suggests that nutritional genetic variants may influence the efficacy of diet/lifestyle interventions in obese individuals, but further large-scale studies are needed to validate these results due to the small sample size.
