Crack the Lipid Metabolism Code With Us
Plasma Free Fatty Acid Metabolism Analysis
Free fatty acids, also known as non-esterified fatty acids (FFA/NEFA), refer to fatty acids that are not esterified with substances such as glycerol and cholesterol. Our company provides services for the determination of free fatty acid concentrations and species in plasma, and the analysis of the metabolic pathways and regulatory mechanisms of free fatty acids. Moreover, our researchers provide services for the assessment of the association between fatty acid metabolism and obesity and its related metabolic diseases.
Ceramide Metabolism Analysis
Ceramide is a biologically active sphingolipid with cell signaling properties. Abnormal ceramide metabolism is associated with the pathogenesis of obesity-induced insulin resistance and metabolic diseases. Our company offers ceramide concentration and distribution assays. Relying on comprehensive characterization, we provide an analysis of ceramide metabolism for metabolic diseases such as obesity and diabetes.
Adipose Storage and Dynamic Turnover Mechanism Analysis
Understanding the balance between adipocyte hypertrophy (cell size increase) and hyperplasia (differentiation of new adipocytes) is critical for developing anti-obesity therapeutics. By mapping the dynamic turnover of triglycerides and the metabolic fate of various lipid species, Protheragen empowers researchers to identify potent targets for therapeutic intervention in obesity, insulin resistance, and hepatic steatosis.

Results: In this study, researchers evaluated the effects of ACE2 on lipid metabolism and inflammatory responses by using the Obesity-related glomerulopathy (ORG) mouse model. It was found that ACE2 deficiency exacerbated renal injury and lipid deposition, whereas ACE2 overexpression had a protective effect. In addition, this study reveals the mechanism by which ACE2 attenuates lipid deposition and inflammatory responses in ORG through the NF-E2-related factor-2 (Nrf2) pathway.
