Bifidobacterium Colonization Studies

Inquiry

Overview

Probiotics alter host metabolism by affecting energy regulation and chronic inflammatory states associated with obesity, thereby making gut microbial interventions a viable strategy for treating obesity. Bifidobacterium are a typical example of a probiotic that is widely colonized in the human intestinal tract during infancy, stimulating the systemic and local intestinal immune system. Changes in the composition, diversity, and relative abundance of Bifidobacterium may lead to the development of obesity diseases. Protheragen uses obese mouse models to explore the effects of Bifidobacterium on body mass, body fat distribution, and blood lipids in obese mice, and to explore the mechanism of action.

Bifidobacterium Colonization Study: Reshaping the Balance of Intestinal Microecology

Animal and Strain Culture

  • We offer very specialized strain isolation, purification, and culture services. Our strains are always grown under anaerobic conditions at 37°C.
  • Our company offers a variety of animal models to meet the research needs of our clients, such as a normal diet group, a high-fat diet group, a high sugar diet group, and a high-protein diet group. Our researchers collect feces from the single gavage group at 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 20, and 24 h after gavage. Moreover, we provide total fecal DNA extraction services.

Measurement of Biochemical Indicators

We provide mouse lipid and liver function assays, including serum total cholesterol (TC), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), total triglyceride (TG), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), and aspartate transaminase (AST).

Gene Expression

With cutting-edge bioanalytical technologies and reliable tools, we offer highly efficient genome sequencing and quantitative real-time (PCR) reactions.

Applications

  • Bifidobacterium colonization studies can be used to assess changes in the composition, diversity, and relative abundance of bifidobacteria.
  • Bifidobacterium colonization studies can be used to assess the effect of different strains of bifidobacteria of the same genus on the effects of obesity in animals in vivo.
  • Bifidobacterium colonization studies can be used to evaluate strains for screening specific functions.

Advantages of Us

  • Our company provides very comprehensive data screening and analysis services to help clients quickly visualize effective data.
  • All colonized Bifidobacterium are screened in vitro to ensure optimal data.
  • According to the research needs of different clients, we provide diversified indicator testing services.

Explore Anti-Obesity Therapies with Us

Obesity as a global health problem, its therapeutic targets, and the development of anti-obesity therapies are the focus of medical research.

Targets for Developing Anti-Obesity Therapeutics

Our company provides specialized target discovery services such as Melanocortin 4 Receptor (MC4R), Glucagon-Like Peptide 1 (GLP-1), and Methionine Aminopeptidase 2 (MetAP2). Our company focuses on providing the following high-quality target screen, the discovery of which provides direction for the development of new anti-obesity therapies.

Anti-Obesity Therapy Development

Our company offers anti-obesity therapeutic development services for these high-quality targets. These therapies include but are not limited to:

Preclinical Studies of Anti-Obesity Therapeutics

Preclinical studies are a critical step in anti-obesity research, including disease mechanism studies, drug screening, bioanalytics, pharmacodynamics, ADME, and toxicology analysis. These services help clients fast-track the therapy development process, improve efficiency, and reduce the risk of program translation.

Results: To simulate early microbe-host interactions, the researchers colonized germ-free mice with a simplified model of the human infant gut microbiota at the neonatal stage. This model community consisted of four species of infantile bifidobacteria, which are abundant in the microbiota of human infants. The study also used completely germ-free mice and mice colonized with a complex, traditional mouse microbiota at the neonatal stage as controls. The study found that germ-free mice colonized with infant-type Bifidobacterium showed alterations in certain behavioral traits in adulthood. These changes may be related to interactions between gut microbes and the host brain.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What are the reasons for the failure to replicate the obesity model?

The most obvious failure of obesity modeling is the lack of weight gain or the loss of weight. In general, common reasons for failure include failure to give an acclimatization period or an acclimatization period that is too short, and problems with the feed being used. Our company has abundant animal resources, advanced modeling methods, and comprehensive evaluation to ensure that we can provide clients with high-quality animal models.

  2. What are the causes and major mechanisms involved in the development of obesity?

Obesity is an excessive increase in the number and size of fat cells and the storage of excess energy intake in the form of body fat, a syndrome caused by the interaction of multiple factors. Obesity is affected by genetic factors, environmental factors, dietary habits, behavioral factors, and social factors, among which a high-fat diet is an important cause of obesity. Current research on the mechanism of obesity mainly includes central mechanisms, insulin resistance, fat cell metabolism, and genetic and social factors. We provide the most specialized anti-obesity research solutions to meet our clients' research needs in terms of each influencing factor.

Protheragen provides high-quality gut microbial colonization research services to solve our clients' confusion in obesity research. Our high-quality services and conscientious attitude have received praise from clients all over the world. Please feel free to contact us to discuss your project needs.
