Synonyms:
Urea; Urea assay
Size:
100T

Specification
Description:
Urea assay kit (at OD 340 nm) is a metabolic assay kit for detecting urea from 50 to 1000 uM. It is a homogeneous mixing-incubation-measurement type of assay, which is high-throughput, rapid, and sensitive.
Background:
Urea is a major organic component of urine and plays an essential role in the metabolism of nitrogen-containing compounds. Urea content analysis is used in the study of metabolism-related diseases.
Assay Type:
Quantitative assay
Assay Principle:
The assay principle of the kit is that urease converts urea to ammonia and carbon dioxide. NADH is then converted to NAD+ in the presence of ammonia, α-ketoglutarate, and glutamate dehydrogenase. The decrease in optical density at 340 nm is proportional to the concentration of urea in the sample.
Assay Target:
Urea
Target Species:
Universal
Research Area:
Urea; Obesity
Sample Type:
Urea in biological samples (e.g. plasma; serum; urine)
Detection Limit:
50 μM
Reaction Time:
30 min
Applications:
Urea assay kit (at OD 340 nm) is used for quantitative enzymatic determination of urea.
Storage:
Store at 2-8°C.
