Background:

Assay Principle:
Triglycerides are hydrolyzed by lipoprotein lipase to glycerol and free fatty acids. Glycerol is catalyzed by glycerol kinase (GK) to produce glycerol-3-phosphate and ADP, and glycerol-3-phosphate produces hydrogen peroxide by glycerol phosphate oxidase (GPO). In the presence of 4-aminoantipyrine and phenol, hydrogen peroxide is catalyzed by the enzyme peroxidase (POD) to produce quinone compounds, the content of which is proportional to the content of triglycerides.
