Product Overview
Description:
NAD/NADH assay kit (Colorimetric) is a metabolic assay kit for the rapid and sensitive detection of NAD/NADH. The detection limit is 0.05 μM.
Assay Principle:
The kit is based on a lactate dehydrogenase cycle reaction in which the NADH formed reduces the formazan (MTT) reagent. The color intensity of the reduced product is measured at 565 nm and is proportional to the concentration of NAD/NADH in the sample. The assay is highly specific for NAD+/NADH with minimal interference from NADP+/NADPH.
Background:
Pyridine nucleotides play an important role in metabolism. The quantitative determination of NAD+/NADH can be applied to studies related to energy conversion and the redox state of cells or tissues.
Synonyms:
Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide
Applications:
NAD/NADH assay kit (Colorimetric) is used for the sensitive determination of NAD and NADH in cell and tissue extracts and evaluation of drug effects on NAD/NADH metabolism.
