Product Overview
Description:
Malate assay kit is a metabolic assay kit for the rapid and sensitive detection of malate. The detection limit is 0.02 mM.
Assay Principle:
Based on the malate oxidation reaction catalyzed by malate dehydrogenase, the NADH formed in the process reduces the formazan (MTT) reagent. The color intensity of the product measured at 565 nm is proportional to the concentration of malic acid in the sample.
Background:
L-Malate or L-Malic acid is a dicarboxylic acid that is made by all organisms and plays an important role in the Calvin and Krebs cycles. Malic acid is often used by the food and beverage industry as an additive in products such as wine, beer, and candy.
Synonyms:
Malic acid; 2-hydroxysuccinate
Applications:
Malate assay kit is used for the quantitative determination of L-malate (L-malic acid) in cells, tissue, malate in food, juice, beverage, and other agricultural products, and drug effects on malate metabolism.
Research Area:
TCA cycle; Urea; Obesity research; Food safety and analysis
