Description: Human plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) CLIA kit is a CLIA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of PAI-1 in human samples with a range of 2.74-2000 pg/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 0.96 pg/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.

Assay Principle: The microplate included in this kit is pre-functionalized with an antibody specific to PAI1. Standards or samples are introduced into the designated wells along with a biotin-conjugated detection antibody specific for PAI1. Next, avidin-conjugated HRP is added and incubated. A mixture of substrates A and B is then introduced to generate glow light emission kinetics. Upon development, the intensity of the emitted light is directly proportional to the PAI1 level present in the sample or standard.

Background: As the primary physiological inhibitor of tissue-type plasminogen activator and urokinase-type plasminogen activator, PAI-1 exerts its effects by suppressing fibrinolysis and proteolysis. Its elevation is associated not only with thrombosis and fibrosis but also with obesity and insulin resistance.
