Product Overview
Description:
Human obestatin ELISA kit-Quantitative sandwich is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of obestatin in human samples with a range of 78-5000 pg/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 32 pg/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
The methodology applied in this assay is the sandwich enzyme immunoassay format. A microtiter plate has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to OB. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate plate wells together with a biotin-labeled antibody specific for OB. Next, avidin conjugated to HRP is introduced into each microplate well and incubated. Upon the addition of TMB substrate solution, a color change will be observed only in wells containing the complete sandwich complex (OB, biotinylated antibody, and enzyme-labeled avidin). The reaction is halted by adding a sulphuric acid solution, and the color shift is measured at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 10 nm. The final concentration of OB in the specimens is calculated by mapping the sample O.D. values to the standard curve.
Background:
Obestatin is a hormone secreted by cells in the stomach and small intestine that may regulate both hunger and satiety signals through a complex balancing system. Studying how obestatin interacts with other hormones, such as insulin and leptin, can help us gain a more comprehensive understanding of energy metabolism and analyze its role in obesity.
