Product Overview
Description:
Chicken insulin (INS) ELISA kit (0.313-20 ng/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of INS in chicken samples with a range of 0.313-20 ng/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 0.19 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
This kit utilizes a sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. The provided microplate is pre-coated with an antibody specific to INS. Standards or samples are added to the wells to bind with the immobilized antibody, followed by the sequential addition of a biotinylated detection antibody and an avidin-HRP conjugate. After washing away unbound components, a substrate solution is added, producing a blue color in wells containing the INS complex. The reaction is terminated with sulphuric acid, shifting the color to yellow, and the optical density (O.D.) is measured at 450 nm. The O.D. value is directly proportional to the INS concentration, which is calculated using a standard curve.
Background:
INS is a hormone composed of an A chain and a B chain linked by two disulfide bonds. Secreted by the pancreas, it functions as a key regulator of metabolism within the body. Its primary role is to lower blood glucose levels by promoting glucose uptake into cells. INS is fundamentally linked to obesity through its role in energy metabolism and its relationship with insulin resistance. By targeting the insulin receptor signaling pathway and the diverse metabolic processes it regulates, researchers can develop novel anti-obesity therapies.
Synonyms:
Pancreatic insulin
