Product Overview
Description:
Rat putative peptide YY3 (PYY3) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of PYY3 in rat samples. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
The ELISA analytical biochemical technique is based on PYY3 antibody-PYY3 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect PYY3 antigen targets in samples.
Background:
Putative peptide YY3 (PYY3) is a proposed peptide derived from the peptide YY precursor, which belongs to the neuropeptide Y family and is involved in the regulation of appetite and energy balance. Peptide YY–related peptides are primarily secreted by enteroendocrine cells in the gastrointestinal tract and act on Y receptors to modulate food intake and gastrointestinal function. Although the precise biological role of PYY3 remains under investigation, alterations in PYY signaling pathways are known to influence satiety, feeding behavior, and body weight regulation. Dysregulation of PYY-derived peptides is therefore considered relevant to obesity and metabolic disorders associated with impaired appetite control.
Synonyms:
PYY-III; Putative peptide YY3
Applications:
Rat putative peptide YY3 (PYY3) ELISA kit is used to quantify PYY3 in rat samples, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including neuroscience, hepatology, obesity, and others.
