Product Overview
Description:
Human multiple epidermal growth factor-like domains protein 8 (MEGF8) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of MEGF8 in human samples. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
The ELISA analytical biochemical technique is based on MEGF8 antibody-MEGF8 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect MEGF8 antigen targets in samples.
Background:
MEGF8 is a transmembrane protein containing multiple EGF-like domains involved in cell-cell adhesion and signaling, associated with ciliary function and embryonic development. MEGF8 gene mutations are associated with certain ciliopathies, such as BBS syndrome, which are often characterized by severe obesity, suggesting MEGF8 may play an indirect role in ciliomedial metabolic signaling within the hypothalamus.
Synonyms:
Multiple epidermal growth factor-like domains protein 8 isoform 1; Multiple EGF-like-domains 8; SBP1; CRPT2; EGFL4; C19orf49; Epidermal growth factor-like protein 4; EGF-like protein 4; Multiple EGF-like domains protein
Applications:
Human multiple epidermal growth factor-like domains protein 8 (MEGF8) ELISA kit is used to quantify MEGF8 in human samples, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including signal transduction, neurodevelopment, obesity, etc.
