Product Overview

Description: Chicken glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of GLP-1 in chicken samples with a range of 15.6-1000 pg/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of up to 5 pg/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle: This assay employs a double-antibody sandwich ELISA technique. The microplate is pre-coated with a chicken GLP-1 monoclonal antibody, while the detection antibody is a biotin-labeled polyclonal antibody. Samples and the biotinylated detection antibody are added to the wells, and the wells are subsequently washed with PBS or TBS. Next, avidin-peroxidase conjugates are introduced. Following a thorough wash, TMB substrate is added; the enzyme-catalyzed reaction produces a blue product that shifts to yellow upon acidification. The color depth is positively correlated with the concentration of GLP-1 in the samples.
Background: GLP-1 is a peptide hormone secreted by enteroendocrine cells in the gut. It belongs to the incretin family, primarily released after meals, and regulates blood glucose and energy balance through multiple pathways. GLP-1 is considered a “satiety” hormone because it signals the brain to reduce appetite. It plays a crucial role in obesity treatment and is currently one of the most promising and effective drug targets for anti-obesity medications.
Synonyms: GLP1; Glucagon like peptide 1; Glp1
Applications: Chicken glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) ELISA kit is used to quantify GLP-1 in chicken serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatant of chicken, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including endocrinology, cardiovascular biology, hepatology, metabolism, obesity, and others.
Research Area: Endocrinology; Cardiovascular biology; Hepatology; Metabolism; Obesity
