Product Overview

Description: Human N-acylethanolamine-hydrolyzing acid amidase (NAAA) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of NAAA in human samples. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle: The ELISA analytical biochemical technique is based on NAAA antibody-NAAA antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect NAAA antigen targets in samples.
Background: NAAA is a lysosomal amide hydrolase responsible for hydrolyzing N-acetylsphingosine to generate ceramide and fatty acids. Ceramide, a potent lipid signaling molecule, accumulates under high-fat diets and obesity and is widely recognized as a key driver of insulin resistance and lipotoxicity. As a precursor-degrading enzyme for ceramides, abnormal activity or expression of NAAA affects intracellular ceramide levels, thereby indirectly influencing the progression of metabolic disorders.
Synonyms: PLT; ASAHL; Acid ceramidase-like protein; N-acylsphingosine amidohydrolase-like; ASAH-like protein
EC NO.: 3.5.1.60
Applications: Human N-acylethanolamine-hydrolyzing acid amidase (NAAA) ELISA kit is used to quantify NAAA in human samples, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including enzymes and kinases, metabolism, obesity, etc.
Research Area: Enzymes and kinases; Metabolism; Obesity
