Product Overview
Description:
Rat estrogen receptor (ER) ELISA kit (0.4-10 ng/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of ER in rat with a range of 0.4-10 ng/mL and a specificity of 0.2 ng/mL.
Assay Principle:
The microtiter plate provided in this kit is pre-coated with goat anti-rabbit antibody. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate wells of the microtiter plate along with an antibody specific for ER and horseradish peroxidase (HRP) conjugated to ER. Competitive inhibition between HRP-labeled and unlabeled ER and the antibody occurs. A substrate solution is added to the wells, and the color develops opposite the amount of ER in the sample. The color development is stopped, and the intensity of the color is measured.
Background:
ER is a ligand-activated transcription factor composed of several domains important for hormone binding, DNA binding, and activation of transcription. Estrogens and their receptors play roles in sexual development, reproductive functions, bone, and other tissues. ERs are associated with various pathological processes.
Synonyms:
Estradiol receptor; Oestrogen receptor; Receptors, Estrogen
Applications:
Rat estrogen receptor (ER) ELISA kit (0.4-10 ng/mL) is used to quantify ER in serum, plasma, and other biological fluid samples of rats, providing data to support a wide range of studies.
