Product Overview
Description:
Rat adiponectin (ADP) ELISA kit (<10 pg/mL) is a ready-to-use ELISA kit for analyzing rat ADP levels with a sensitivity of <10 pg/mL.
Assay Principle:
The assay utilizes an antibody specific for rat ADP coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells, and the ADP in the samples is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed, and biotinylated anti-rat ADP antibody is added. After washing away the unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted into the wells. The wells are washed again, TMB substrate solution is added to the wells, and the color is then developed proportionally to the amount of bound ADP. The termination solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.
Background:
ADP is an important adipokine involved in the regulation of fat metabolism and insulin sensitivity, exhibiting antidiabetic, anti-atherosclerotic, and anti-inflammatory properties. It increases glucose utilization and fatty acid burning, stimulates AMPK phosphorylation and activation in liver and skeletal muscle, and may play a role in cell growth, angiogenesis, and tissue remodeling.
Synonyms:
ADIPOQ; ACDC; APM1; Adipocyte C1q and collagen domain-containing protein; ACRP30; Adipose most abundant gene transcript 1 protein; apM-1; Gelatin-binding protein; Adiponectin
