Description: Porcine pancreatic lipase (PL) ELISA kit-Quantitative competitive is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of PL in porcine samples with a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 0.1 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.

Assay Principle: This PL ELISA kit applies a competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a polyclonal anti-PL antibody and a PL-HRP conjugate. Samples and buffer are incubated with the PL-HRP conjugate in the pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are washed five times. The wells are then incubated with an HRP substrate to form a blue colored complex, which shifts to yellow upon adding the stop solution. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the PL concentration, as sample PL competes with the PL-HRP conjugate for limited antibody binding sites.

Background: PL, a key member of the lipase gene family located at chromosomal position 10q26.1, is a specialized carboxyl esterase (EC 3.1.1.3) specifically expressed in the pancreas and secreted into the extracellular region. This hydrolase is essential for the efficient digestion of dietary fats, specifically driving the hydrolysis of insoluble, emulsified triglycerides into absorbable components. Beyond its primary role in lipid catabolism and cholesterol absorption, PNLIP is involved in retinoid metabolic processes and is the central molecular driver in Pancreatic Lipase Deficiency, making it a fundamental target for understanding gastrointestinal lipid digestion and its systemic impact on energy balance.
