Beyond its primary role in lipid catabolism and cholesterol absorption, PNLIP is involved in retinoid metabolic processes and is the central molecular driver in Pancreatic Lipase Deficiency, making it a fundamental target for understanding gastrointestinal lipid digestion and its systemic impact on energy balance.
