Product Overview
Description:
Mouse glucose regulated protein 78 (GRP78) ELISA kit (0.469-30 ng/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of GRP78 in mouse samples with a range of 0.469-30 ng/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 0.281 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
This kit is based on sandwich ELISA technology. A capture antibody is pre-coated onto 96-well plates. Standards, samples, and a biotin-conjugated detection antibody are added sequentially to the wells and followed by a wash buffer step. HRP-streptavidin is then introduced, and unbound conjugates are washed away. TMB substrates are utilized to visualize the HRP enzymatic reaction; the TMB is catalyzed to produce a blue product that shifts to yellow upon the addition of an acidic stop solution. The intensity of the yellow color is directly proportional to the amount of target captured. The O.D. absorbance is read at 450 nm, allowing for the calculation of the target concentration.
Background:
GRP78 is a molecular chaperone protein that plays a crucial role within the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). Its primary function is to assist in the proper folding and assembly of newly synthesized proteins while ensuring protein quality control. GRP78 may exert its effects by influencing the activity of obesity-related factors, thereby playing a role in diseases such as obesity. By studying and modulating GRP78 expression, scientists can gain a deeper understanding of obesity and its associated complications, paving the way for potential interventions.
Synonyms:
MIF2; BIP; Immunoglobulin heavy chain-binding protein; Binding immunoglobulin protein; Endoplasmic reticulum lumenal Ca binding grp78; Heat shock 70kDa protein 5; HSPA5; GRP-78
Applications:
Mouse glucose regulated protein 78 (GRP78) ELISA kit (0.469-30 ng/mL) is used to quantify GRP78 in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell, tissue lysate, and other liquid samples of mouse, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including signal transduction, infection immunity, obesity, and others.
