Product Overview
Description:
Monkey insulin (INS) ELISA kit (15.63-1000 nIU/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of INS in monkey samples with a range of 15.63-1000 nIU/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 9.38 nIU/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
This kit employs the sandwich-ELISA principle, utilizing a microplate pre-coated with an antibody specific to monkey INS. Samples or standards are added to the wells to bind with the capture antibody, followed by the successive addition of a biotinylated Monkey INS detection antibody and an avidin-HRP conjugate. After washing away free components, a substrate solution is introduced to produce a blue color in positive wells. The reaction is terminated with a stop solution, turning the wells yellow, and the optical density (O.D.) is measured at 450 ± 2 nm, where the value is proportional to the concentration of monkey INS.
Background:
INS is a hormone composed of an A chain and a B chain linked by two disulfide bonds. Secreted by the pancreas, it functions as a key regulator of metabolism within the body. Its primary role is to lower blood glucose levels by promoting glucose uptake into cells. INS is fundamentally linked to obesity through its role in energy metabolism and its relationship with insulin resistance. By targeting the insulin receptor signaling pathway and the diverse metabolic processes it regulates, researchers can develop novel anti-obesity therapies.
Synonyms:
Pancreatic insulin
