Product Overview
Description:
Human glucose regulated protein 78 (GRP78) ELISA kit (0.312-20 ng/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of GRP78 in human samples with a range of 0.312-20 ng/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 0.117 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
The microtiter plate provided in this kit is pre-immobilized with an antibody specific to GRP78. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate wells along with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to GRP78. Subsequently, avidin-HRP is added to each well and incubated. Upon the addition of TMB substrate, a color change occurs only in wells containing the GRP78 sandwich complex. The enzymatic reaction is terminated with a sulphuric acid solution, and the absorbance is measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm ± 10 nm. The concentration of GRP78 in the samples is determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the established standard curve.
Background:
GRP78 is a molecular chaperone protein that plays a crucial role within the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). Its primary function is to assist in the proper folding and assembly of newly synthesized proteins while ensuring protein quality control. GRP78 may exert its effects by influencing the activity of obesity-related factors, thereby playing a role in diseases such as obesity. By studying and modulating GRP78 expression, scientists can gain a deeper understanding of obesity and its associated complications, paving the way for potential interventions.
Synonyms:
MIF2; BIP; Immunoglobulin heavy chain-binding protein; Binding immunoglobulin protein; Endoplasmic reticulum lumenal Ca binding grp78; Heat shock 70kDa protein 5; HSPA5; GRP-78
Applications:
Human glucose regulated protein 78 (GRP78) ELISA kit (0.312-20 ng/mL) is used to quantify GRP78 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids of humans, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including signal transduction, infection immunity, obesity, and others.
