Product Overview

Description: Human coagulation factor II (F2) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of F2 in human with a range of 9.375-600 ng/mL and a specificity of 3.0 ng/mL.
Assay Principle: The microtiter plates provided in this kit are pre-coated with an antibody specific for F2. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells along with a biotin-conjugated antibody preparation specific for F2. Avidin conjugated to horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is then added to each microplate well and incubated. Upon addition of the TMB substrate solution, only the wells containing F2, biotin-conjugated antibody, and enzyme-conjugated avidin will show a color change. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulfuric acid solution, and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm ± 10 nm. The concentration of F2 in the sample is then determined by comparing the OD of the sample to a standard curve.
Background: F2, also known as prothrombin, is a protein (serine protease) that is a key zymogen in the blood coagulation cascade, which is cleaved to form the active enzyme thrombin.
Synonyms: Coagulation factor II; Coagulation factor II, thrombin
Applications: Human coagulation factor II (F2) ELISA kit is used to quantify F2 in serum samples of humans, providing data to support a wide range of studies.
Research Area: Inflammatory reaction
