Product Overview
Description:
Human cell death activator CIDE A (CIDEA) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of CIDEA in human with a specificity of 0.1 ng/mL.
Assay Principle:
The assay samples and buffer are incubated in pre-coated plates with CIDEA-HRP conjugate for one hour. At the end of the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with the substrate for the HRP enzyme. The product of the reaction of the enzyme with the substrate forms a blue colored complex. Finally, the reaction is stopped by the addition of a stop solution, which turns the solution yellow. The color intensity is measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm on a microplate reader. The color intensity is inversely proportional to the concentration of CIDEA because the CIDEA in the sample competes with the CIDEA-HRP conjugate for the binding site of the anti-CIDEA antibody. Since there is a finite number of binding sites, as more sites are occupied by CIDEA in the sample, there are fewer sites left to bind to the CIDEA-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted between color intensity (O.D.) and standard concentration. The concentration of CIDEA in each sample is derived from this standard curve.
Background:
CIDEA is an important transcriptional coactivator that regulates mammary gland secretion of milk fat. It plays a role in thermogenesis and lipolysis. Studies have found that CIDEA-deficient mice have a higher metabolic rate and more efficient lipolysis.
Synonyms:
Cell death inducing DFFA like effector a; Cell death-inducing DFFA-like effector A; CIDE-A; Lipid transferase CIDEA
