Product Overview
Description:
Rat C-reactive protein (CRP) ELISA kit (3-25 μg/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of CRP in rats with a range of 3-25 μg/mL.
Assay Principle:
The canine serum to be tested is diluted to 1:500 and reacts with pneumococcal C polysaccharide coated on specially treated microtiter wells. After appropriate incubation, the wells are washed to remove unreacted serum proteins, and then enzyme-labeled goat anti-dog CRP (conjugate) is added to react with and label the antigen-antibody complex. After further incubation, the wells are washed again to remove unreacted conjugate. Color development is initiated by the addition of urea peroxide substrate with TMB as the chromogen. A blue color indicates a positive reaction, while a negative reaction is colorless or has a trace of blue. The reaction is interrupted with a stopping solution, which changes the blue color of the positive reaction to yellow. The negative reaction remains colorless or slightly yellow. The color intensity (absorbance) is read at 450nm using a spectrophotometer or ELISA reader.
Background:
CRP is an acute-phase protein of hepatic origin, whose circulating concentrations rise in response to inflammation. It is considered a key plasma protein that can bind to Leptin, and its potential role in regulating leptin's function in obesity is crucial.
