Product Overview

Description: Canine glucagon-like peptide 2 (GLP-2) ELISA kit (62.5-2000 pg/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of GLP-2 in canine samples with a range of 62.5-2000 pg/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 10 pg/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle: This assay features purified canine GLP-2 antibody immobilized on microelisa strip-plate wells. Samples and HRP-labeled GLP-2 antibodies are added, forming an antibody-antigen-antibody-enzyme complex. After a complete wash, TMB substrate is added, yielding a blue color under HRP catalysis. The reaction is terminated with a sulphuric acid solution and measured at 450 nm. The concentration of GLP-2 is determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to a standard curve.
Background: GLP-2, as an incretin, primarily functions to promote intestinal growth and nutrient absorption. Recent studies have revealed that GLP-2's association with obesity primarily manifests through its regulatory effects on intestinal barrier function and the gut microbiome. By improving gut health, GLP-2 may indirectly influence metabolism. Furthermore, ongoing research is exploring the potential applications of GLP-2 and its analogues in regulating fat metabolism and energy expenditure, offering new avenues for obesity treatment.
Synonyms: Glp2; GLP2
Applications: Canine glucagon-like peptide 2 (GLP-2) ELISA kit (62.5-2000 pg/mL) is used to quantify GLP-2 in serum, plasma, Tissue homogenate, Feces, Urine, Body fluids of canine, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including metabolism, endocrinology, cardiovascular biology, obesity, and others.
