Product Overview
Description:
Salmon growth hormone (GH) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of GH in salmon samples with a range of 0.625-40 ng/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of <0.245 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
This assay is based on the competitive binding enzyme immunoassay technique. The provided microtiter plate is pre-coated with an antibody specific to the target antigen. During the reaction, the target antigen in the sample or standard competes with a fixed amount of biotin-labeled target antigen for the available binding sites on the immobilized antibody. Excess conjugate and unbound substances are removed through a washing step. Subsequently, avidin-conjugated HRP is added to each microplate well and incubated. A TMB substrate solution is then introduced to each well to facilitate color development. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution, and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 2 nm. The concentration of the target antigen in the samples is determined by comparing the OD of the specimens to the established standard curve, with the signal intensity being inversely proportional to the antigen concentration.
Background:
Growth hormone (GH) is a crucial endocrine hormone that plays a key role in growth regulation and metabolic control. It primarily promotes bodily growth by stimulating the liver and other tissues to secrete insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1), while also enhancing amino acid uptake and protein synthesis. Deficiencies in GH can lead to growth hormone deficiency disorders, such as dwarfism. Research indicates that GH induces lipolysis through direct lipolytic effects in adipose tissue and influences obesity to a certain extent.
Synonyms:
GH1; GH-N; GHN; hGH-N; Somatotropin; Hygetropin; Jintropin; Kigtropin; Pituitary growth hormone; Growth hormone, normal
