Description: Rat prothrombin fragment 1 + 2 (F1 + 2) ELISA kit (31.2-2000 pg/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of F1 + 2 in rat with a range of 31.2-2000 pg/mL and a specificity of up to 12 pg/mL.

Assay Principle: The pre-coated antibody is a rat F1+2 monoclonal antibody, and the detection antibody is a biotin-labeled polyclonal antibody. The sample and biotin-labeled antibody are added to the ELISA plate wells and rinsed with PBS or TBS. Avidin-peroxidase conjugate is then sequentially added to the ELISA wells. The reactants are thoroughly rinsed with PBS or TBS and then colored with TMB substrate. TMB turns blue when catalyzed by peroxidase and finally turns yellow in the presence of acid. The shade of color is positively correlated with the detection factor in the sample.

Background: Thrombin converts fibrinogen to fibrin and activates factors V, VII, VIII, XIII, and, in complex with thrombomodulin, protein C. Research indicates that obesity is associated with disturbances in coagulation balance, leading to a pro-coagulant and hypofibrinolytic state. Analysis of F1 + 2 levels is of certain significance.
