Product Overview
Description:
Rat agouti-related protein (AGRP) ELISA kit (0.1 ng/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of AGRP in rat with a specificity of 0.1 ng/mL. The kit is highly specific, sensitive, and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
The kit is based on AGRP antibody-AGRP antigen interactions (immunosorbent) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect AGRP antigen targets in samples.
Background:
AGRP plays a role in body weight homeostasis. It participates in the control of feeding behavior via the central melanocortin system and is associated with obesity. By inhibiting the cAMP production mediated by the stimulation of melanocortin receptors in the hypothalamus and adrenal gland, it acts as an α-MSH antagonist.
Synonyms:
Agouti related protein; AGRT; ASIP2; ART
Applications:
Rat agouti-related protein (AGRP) ELISA kit (0.1 ng/mL) is an important tool for the quantitative detection of AGRP in various biological samples (serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, body fluid, tissue homogenate) of rats.

Signal transduction; Metabolic pathway; Neuro science; Hormone metabolism; Obesity research
