Product Overview
Description:
Rat 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 2C (5HTR2C) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of 5HTR2C in rat samples with a range of 0.312-20 ng/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of <0.083 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
The microtiter plate provided in this kit is pre-immobilized with an antibody specific to 5HTR2C. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate wells along with a biotin-conjugated antibody preparation specific to 5HTR2C. Subsequently, avidin-HRP is added to each microplate well and incubated. Upon the addition of TMB substrate, color development occurs only in wells containing the 5HTR2C sandwich complex. The enzymatic reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution, and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm ± 10 nm. The concentration of 5HTR2C in the samples is determined by interpolating the O.D. values against the established standard curve.
Background:
The 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 2C is a G protein-coupled receptor primarily distributed throughout the central nervous system, particularly in multiple regions of the brain, including the hypothalamus. As a member of the serotonin receptor family, its core function is regulating appetite and energy balance. It plays a crucial role in obesity treatment and serves as a key target for developing anti-obesity drugs.
Synonyms:
5HTR2-C; 5-HTR2-C
Applications:
Rat 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 2C (5HTR2C) ELISA kit is used to quantify 5HTR2C in rat tissue homogenates, and other biological fluids, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including neuro science, obesity, and others.
