Product Overview
Description:
Rat 3-keto-steroid reductase (HSD17B7) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of HSD17B7 in rat samples. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
This assay utilizes a two-site sandwich ELISA for the quantification of HSD17B7. A specific capture antibody is pre-coated onto the microplate. Standards and samples are added to the wells, where HSD17B7 is bound by the immobilized antibody. After washing away unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated detection antibody for HSD17B7 is introduced. Following another wash, streptavidin-HRP is added. After a final wash to remove unbound reagents, a substrate solution is added; color develops in direct proportion to the amount of HSD17B7 bound. The color development is then stopped, and the final intensity is measured.
Background:
HSD17B7 is an enzyme involved in the synthesis of cholesterol, estrogen, and androgen. It may indirectly influence fat metabolism and energy balance by regulating steroid hormone levels, thereby establishing a link to obesity.
Synonyms:
17-Beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase 7; 17-Beta-HSD 7; Estradiol 17-beta-dehydrogenase 7; PRL receptor-associated protein; PRAP
Applications:
Rat 3-keto-steroid reductase (HSD17B7) ELISA kit is used to quantify HSD17B7 in serum, plasma, and other biological fluids of rats, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including metabolism, obesity, and others.
