Product Overview
Description:
Rabbit C-reactive protein (CRP) ELISA kit (25,493 Da) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of CRP in rabbits. The kit is highly specific, sensitive, and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
Antibodies specific for CRP have been pre-coated onto the microtiter plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells, and any CRP is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing unbound material, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for the CRP is added to the wells. After washing, streptavidin-conjugated horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. After washing to remove unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells, and the color is developed proportionally to the amount of CRP bound in the first step. The color development is stopped, and the intensity of the color is measured.
Background:
CRP is an acute-phase protein of hepatic origin, whose circulating concentrations rise in response to inflammation. It is considered a key plasma protein that can bind to Leptin, and its potential role in regulating leptin's function in obesity is crucial.
Synonyms:
Pentraxin-related; pentraxin 1; C-RP; PTX1
