Product Overview

Description: Mouse glucagon (GCG) ELISA kit (1.56-100 pg/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of GCG in mouse samples with a range of 1.56-100 pg/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 0.39 pg/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle: This assay uses a quantitative sandwich ELISA technique. A specific capture antibody for GCG is pre-coated onto a microplate. When standards and samples are added, GCG is captured by the immobilized antibody. After washing, a biotin-conjugated detection antibody is added to form a sandwich complex. Following a second wash, an avidin-HRP conjugate is introduced. Finally, a substrate solution is added; color develops in direct proportion to the amount of GCG bound. The reaction is stopped, and the color intensity is measured to determine the GCG concentration.
Background: Glucagon is a hormone secreted by A cells of the islets of Langerhans, playing a pivotal role in glucose metabolism and homeostasis. Its primary function is to regulate blood glucose levels by promoting gluconeogenesis and inhibiting glycolysis. The dynamic equilibrium between glucagon and insulin is crucial for maintaining healthy metabolism. The detection of glucagon and analysis of its associated pathways provide key insights into understanding and treating obesity.
Synonyms: GLP1; GLP2; GRPP; Glicentin-related polypeptide; Glucagen; Oxyntomodulin; Incretin hormone; GC
Applications: Mouse glucagon (GCG) ELISA kit (1.56-100 pg/mL) is used to quantify GCG in serum, plasma, and tissue homogenates of mouse, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including endocrinology, obesity, metabolism, and others.
Research Area: Endocrinology; Obesity; Metabolism
