Product Overview

Description: Human glicentin ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of Glicentin in human samples with a range of 15.625-1000 pg/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 9.375 pg/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle: This kit employs the competitive-ELISA method. The provided microtiter plate is pre-coated with glicentin. During the assay, glicentin in the sample or standard competes with a fixed amount of immobilized glicentin for binding sites on a biotinylated detection antibody. After washing away excess conjugate and unbound sample, HRP-streptavidin is added and incubated. A TMB substrate solution is then introduced. The enzymatic reaction is terminated with a sulphuric acid solution, and the absorbance is measured at 450 nm. The color intensity is inversely proportional to the glicentin concentration, which is determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to a standard curve.
Background: Glicentin is a hormone secreted in the intestine that shares a common precursor with glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1). It stimulates insulin secretion and suppresses appetite, though its effects are weaker than those of GLP-1. Glicentin may be associated with obesity by influencing energy balance.
Synonyms: GLIC; Glic
Applications: Human glicentin ELISA kit is used to quantify Glicentin in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell, tissue lysate, and other liquid samples of human, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including metabolism, obesity, and others.
Research Area: Metabolism; Obesity
