Product Overview
Description:
Mouse caspase-1 (CASP1) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of CASP1 in mouse. The kit is highly specific, sensitive, and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
An antibody specific for CASP1 has been pre-coated on a microtiter plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells, and any CASP1 is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removal of unbound material, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for CASP1 is added to the wells. After washing, streptavidin-conjugated horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. After washing to remove unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells, and the color develops in proportion to the amount of CASP1 bound in the first step. The color development is stopped, and the intensity of the color is measured.
Background:
CASP1 can cleave IL-1β, releasing mature cytokines that are involved in various inflammatory processes. It is highly expressed in the spleen and lungs and plays an important role in pathogen defense.
Synonyms:
ICE; IL1BC; IL1-BC; P45; Interleukin 1 beta converting enzyme; Apoptosis-related cysteine peptidase; Interleukin-1 beta convertase
