Product Overview
Description:
Mouse acetyl-CoA synthetase, cytoplasmic (ACSS2) ELISA kit is a ready-to-use ELISA kit for analyzing mouse ACSS2 levels. It is an efficient dynamic research tool.
Assay Principle:
The assay utilizes a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantify ACSS2 in the sample. An antibody specific for ACSS2 has been pre-coated on a microtiter plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells, and any ACSS2 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removal of unbound material, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for ACSS2 is added to the wells. After washing, streptavidin-conjugated HRP is added to the wells. After washing to remove unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells, and the color is developed proportionally to the amount of ACSS2 bound in the first step. The color development is stopped, and the intensity of the color is measured.
Background:
ACSS2 activates acetic acid so that it can be used to synthesize lipids or generate energy and participate in biological processes such as lipid biosynthesis and metabolism.
Synonyms:
Acyl-CoA synthetase short-chain family member 2; AceCS2; EC 6.2.1.1
