Description: Human visfatin (VF) ELISA kit-Quantitative sandwich is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of VF in human samples with a range of 15.625-1000 pg/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 6.3 pg/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.

Assay Principle: The principle applied in this kit is the sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided is pre-coated with an antibody specific to VF. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody preparation specific for VF. Next, avidin-conjugated HRP is introduced to each microplate well and incubated. After the TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain the VF sandwich complex will exhibit a colorimetric change. The enzyme-substrate reaction is halted by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution, and the absorbance is measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm ± 10 nm. The concentration of VF in the samples is then calculated by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

Background: Visfatin (VF) is a secreted adipokine and intracellular enzyme involved in nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) biosynthesis. It plays a role in regulating glucose metabolism, insulin secretion, and inflammatory responses, and is expressed in adipose tissue as well as other organs. By linking metabolic and inflammatory pathways, visfatin contributes to the maintenance of energy homeostasis and cellular function.
