Description: Human follistatin-related protein 3 (FSTL3) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of FSTL3 in human samples. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle: This assay utilizes a quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. A microplate is pre-coated with an antibody specific to FSTL3. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells, where any FSTL3 present is captured by the immobilized antibody. After removing unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated detection antibody specific for FSTL3 is added. Following a wash, avidin-conjugated HRP is introduced. After a final wash to remove unbound reagents, a substrate solution is added; color develops in direct proportion to the amount of FSTL3 bound. The reaction is terminated, and the intensity of the color is measured.
Background: FSTL3 is a secreted protein that primarily functions by binding to and neutralizing growth factors such as myostatin. Research indicates that FSTL3 may indirectly influence obesity by affecting muscle growth and energy metabolism, though its precise role requires further investigation.
