Product Overview
Description:
Human indoleamine-2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of IDO in human samples with a range of 0.312-20 ng/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 0.145 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
The microtiter plate provided in this kit is pre-coated with an antibody specific to IDO. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate wells along with a biotin-conjugated detection antibody specific to IDO. Next, avidin-HRP is introduced to each well and incubated. After the addition of TMB substrate, color development occurs only in wells containing the IDO sandwich complex. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by adding a sulphuric acid solution, and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm ± 10 nm. The concentration of IDO in the samples is determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
Background:
IDO is a key rate-limiting enzyme responsible for catalyzing the breakdown of the essential amino acid tryptophan. This degradation process constitutes the first step in the kynurenine pathway. IDO plays a significant role in various physiological and pathological processes, including immune regulation. Given its role in modulating inflammatory responses, it may contribute to the development and progression of obesity.
Synonyms:
CD107B; INDO; Indoleamine-pyrrole 2,3 dioxygenase
Applications:
Human indoleamine-2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) ELISA kit is used to quantify IDO in serum, plasma, and tissue homogenates, cell lysates, and other biological fluids of humans, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including enzyme & kinase, infection immunity, obesity, and others.
