Product Overview

Description: Human C-reactive protein (CRP) ELISA kit (10,415 Da) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of CRP in human. The kit is highly specific, sensitive, and easy to use.
Assay Principle: The microtiter plate provided in this kit is pre-coated with an antibody specific to the target antigen. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells along with a biotin-conjugated antibody preparation specific to the target antigen, and avidin conjugated to horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is then added to each microtiter plate well and incubated. TMB substrate solution is then added to each well. Only wells containing the target antigen, biotin-conjugated antibody, and enzyme-conjugated avidin will show a color change. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulfuric acid solution, and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm ± 2 nm. The concentration of the target antigen in the sample can then be determined by comparing the OD of the sample to a standard curve.
Background: CRP is an acute-phase protein of hepatic origin, whose circulating concentrations rise in response to inflammation. It is considered a key plasma protein that can bind to Leptin, and its potential role in regulating leptin's function in obesity is crucial.
Synonyms: Pentraxin-related; pentraxin 1; C-RP; PTX1
Applications: Human C-reactive protein (CRP) ELISA kit (10,415 Da) is an important tool for the quantitative detection of CRP in various biological samples (serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids) of humans.
Research Area: Inflammatory reaction; Obesity research
