Product Overview
Description:
Rat butyrylcholinesterase (BCHE) ELISA kit (1.56-100 ng/mL, 0.58 ng/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of BCHE in rat with a range of 1.56-100 ng/mL and a specificity of 0.58 ng/mL.
Assay Principle:
The microtiter plate provided in this kit is pre-coated with an antibody specific for BCHE. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells along with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for BCHE. Avidin conjugated to horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is then added to each microtiter well and incubated. Only wells containing BCHE, biotin-conjugated antibody, and enzyme-conjugated avidin will show a color change upon addition of TMB substrate solution. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulfuric acid solution, and the color change is then measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm ± 10 nm. The concentration of BCHE in the sample can then be determined by comparing the OD of the sample to a standard curve.
Background:
BCHE is a non-specific cholinesterase that has broad substrate specificity and is involved in detoxification reactions, drug metabolism, among other processes.
Synonyms:
BuChE; CHE1; E1; Pseudocholinesterase; Cholinesterase; Acylcholine acylhydrolase; Butyrylcholine esterase; Choline esterase II; EC 3.1.1.8
