Product Overview
Description:
Human fatty-acid amide hydrolase (FAAH) ELISA kit (34.4-2200 pg/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of FAAH in human with a range of 34.4-2200 pg/mL and a specificity of <8.6 pg/mL.
Assay Principle:
An antibody specific for FAAH has been pre-coated onto the microtiter plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells, and any FAAH present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removal of unbound material, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for FAAH is added to the wells. After washing, avidin-conjugated horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. After washing to remove unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells, and the color develops in proportion to the amount of FAAH bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped, and the intensity of the color is measured.
Background:
FAAH degrades bioactive fatty acid amides into corresponding acids, thereby terminating the signaling function of these molecules. It participates in neural signaling pathways involved in regulating feeding and is associated with obesity.
Synonyms:
FAAH-1; Anandamide amidohydrolase 1; Oleamide hydrolase 1; EC 3.5.1.99
