Product Overview
Description:
Human apolipoprotein M (apoM) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of apoM in human with a range of 1.56-100 ng/mL and a specificity of <0.39 ng/mL.
Assay Principle:
An antibody specific for apoM has been pre-coated onto the microtiter plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells, and any apoM will bind to the immobilized antibody. After removing unbound material, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for apoM is added to the wells. After washing, avidin-conjugated horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. After washing to remove unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells, and the color develops in proportion to the amount of apoM bound in the first step. The color development is stopped, and the intensity of the color is measured.
Background:
apoM is an apolipoprotein and is a member of the lipocalin family. It is associated with High-Density Lipoprotein (HDL), and to a lesser extent with Low-Density Lipoprotein (LDL) and triglyceride-rich lipoproteins. The encoded protein is secreted via the plasma membrane, but remains membrane-bound, and is involved in lipid transport.
Synonyms:
Apo-M; G3a; NG20; Protein G3a
