Product Overview

Description: Human A-kinase anchor protein 6 (AKAP6) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of AKAP6 in human with a range of 250-5000 pg/mL and a specificity of 1.0 pg/mL.
Assay Principle: The assay samples and buffer are incubated in pre-coated plates with AKAP6-HRP conjugate for one hour. At the end of the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with HRP enzyme substrate. The product of the enzyme reaction with the substrate forms a blue colored complex. Finally, the reaction is stopped by adding a stop solution, which turns the solution yellow. The color intensity is measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm on a microplate reader. The color intensity is inversely proportional to the concentration of AKAP6 because the AKAP6 in the sample competes with the AKAP6-HRP conjugate for the binding site of the anti-AKAP6 antibody. Since there is a finite number of binding sites, as more sites are occupied by AKAP6 in the sample, fewer sites remain to bind to the AKAP6-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted between color intensity (O.D.) and standard concentration. The concentration of AKAP6 in each sample is derived from this standard curve.
Background: AKAPs are a group of structurally diverse proteins that have the common function of binding to the regulatory subunit of protein kinase A (PKA) and confining the holoenzyme to discrete locations within the cell.
Synonyms: A kinase (PRKA) anchor protein 6; AKAP-6
Applications: Human A-kinase anchor protein 6 (AKAP6) ELISA kit is used to quantify AKAP6 in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, body fluid, tissue homogenate samples of human, providing data to support a wide range of studies.
