Product Overview
Description:
Human estrogen receptor α (ERα) ELISA kit (62.5-4000 pg/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of ERα in human with a range of 62.5-4000 pg/mL and a specificity of 37.5 pg/mL.
Assay Principle:
The micro ELISA plate in this kit is pre-coated with an antibody specific for human ERα. Standards or samples are added into the corresponding micro ELISA plate wells and bound to the specific antibody. A biotinylated detection antibody specific for human ERα and avidin-horseradish peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are then added sequentially to each microplate well and incubated. Free components are washed away. Substrate solution is added to each well. Only wells containing Human ERα, biotinylated detection antibody, and avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue. Upon addition of sulfuric acid solution, the enzyme-substrate reaction terminates, and the color changes to yellow. Optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm ± 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of human ERα. The concentration of human ERα in the sample can be calculated by comparing the OD value with the standard curve.
Background:
ERα, a member of the steroid receptor superfamily, contains highly conserved DNA-binding and ligand-binding domains. It is activated by the sex hormone estrogen and is involved in the physiological development and function of various organ systems.
