Description: Goat insulin like growth factor binding protein 2 (IGFBP-2) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of IGFBP-2 in goat samples with a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 1.0 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.

Assay Principle: This kit employs a competitive enzyme immunoassay technique. A monoclonal antibody specific to IGFBP-2 is pre-coated onto a microplate. During the assay, IGFBP-2 from the sample and a fixed amount of IGFBP-2-HRP conjugate are incubated in the wells, competing for the limited number of antibody binding sites. After incubation, the wells are washed to remove unbound components. Subsequently, a substrate for HRP is added, producing a blue color. A stop solution is then introduced to terminate the reaction, shifting the color to yellow. The intensity of the final color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm. This color intensity is inversely proportional to the concentration of IGFBP-2 in the sample, as a higher concentration of sample IGFBP-2 results in less IGFBP-2-HRP conjugate binding and a weaker color signal. The IGFBP-2 concentration in each sample is determined by comparing its optical density (O.D.) to a standard curve.

The role of IGFBP-2 in obesity has garnered increasing attention. Its reduced levels are closely associated with obesity, dyslipidemia, and insulin resistance.
