Product Overview

Description: Fish ghrelin (GHRL) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of GHRL in fish samples with a range of 1-400 ng/L and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 0.45 ng/L. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle: This kit uses a microplate pre-coated with a fish GHRL capture antibody. GHRL in the sample is captured by the immobilized antibody, and a biotinylated fish GHRL detection antibody is added to form a sandwich complex. Streptavidin-HRP is then introduced. After washing away unbound components, a substrate solution is added. Color develops in direct proportion to the fish GHRL concentration. The reaction is terminated with an acidic stop solution, and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
Background: Ghrelin is a peptide hormone primarily secreted by the stomach, exerting its effects by binding to the growth hormone secretagogue receptor type 1 (GHSR). It plays multiple roles in the body, but its most well-known function is regulating energy balance and appetite. Research indicates that ghrelin levels and their regulation of appetite may be abnormal in obese individuals. It is considered a key target for developing anti-obesity drugs.
Synonyms: MTLRP; Preproghrelin; Growth hormone secretagogue receptor ligand; Appetite-regulating hormone; Growth hormone-releasing peptide; Motilin-related peptide
Applications: Fish ghrelin (GHRL) ELISA kit is used to quantify GHRL in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, cell lysates, and tissue homogenates of fish, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including signal transduction, endocrinology, gastroenterology, metabolism, obesity, and others.
