Product Overview

Description: Horse protein kinase C Eta (PKCeta) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of PKCeta in horse samples. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle: The ELISA analytical biochemical technique is based on PKCeta antibody-PKCeta antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect PKCeta antigen targets in samples.
Background: PKCeta is a novel isoform within the PKC family characterized by calcium-independent activation primarily mediated by diacylglycerol (DAG) and phospholipids. It participates in regulating diverse cellular functions, including cell differentiation, tight junction integrity, and inflammatory signaling pathways such as NF-κB. Under conditions of obesity, elevated levels of intracellular free fatty acids and DAG lead to sustained activation of PKCeta. This abnormal activation disrupts downstream signaling from the insulin receptor, resulting in cellular insulin resistance. Consequently, PKCeta represents a critical target for studying and intervening in obesity-related metabolic complications.
Synonyms: PKC-L; nPKC-eta; PRKCH; PKCL; PRKCL; Protein kinase C eta type
Applications: Horse protein kinase C Eta (PKCeta) ELISA kit is used to quantify PKCeta in horse samples, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including signal transduction & cell regulation, inflammation & immunology, metabolism, obesity, and others.
Research Area: Signal transduction & cell regulation; Inflammation & immunology; Metabolism; Obesity
